Confused, need help quick!!

I am running the stock ROM, injectors sized to 513. My injectors are the Greddy/denso 720cc 3ohm. Now the problems is when I start the vehicle the STFT is at 24%. It doent make sense that the car would be "lean" at idle with bigger injectors. I just dont understand. List of mods are in the sig. Thank you.

Did you rescale the injectors higher ?

Here's a pretty good thread.

If I rescale the injectors higher the STFT stays at 24% and the AFR goes up to about 17. I'm using the stock ROM with 720s the STFT should be in the negatives with out rescaling the injectors.

the 720's actually fuel less at idle because the larger injectors have a longer duration/deadtime at lower loads. It is weird to think that a larger injector is running leaner at idle but it is how it is.

This is why properly scaling injectors are important.

So do I increase the numbers for the injector latency or decrease the numbers?

The increased size of the injectors add latency at idle, which dumps less fuel. I believe MalibuJack was suggesting injector scaling to be 15-25% less than the actual cc size of your injectors, which would put proper scaling for your 720cc injectors between 540 and 612.

That's mint. You in the Navy? I have a government job and it includes 1.25 hrs commute, 8.5 hours in the office, 1.25 hrs commute home. It blows.

Yeah, I am a Chief. I am currently on shore duty as an inspector. If we dont have an inspection going on we just go in first thing in the morning and hang out for an hour or two and then go home. Next week I have an inspection to do so I will go in around 0600 and get off around 2000, that's 8:00 pm for you civilians.

This is payback for doing 3 deployments to the gulf in 3.5 years.

You need to increase your dead time for those injectors. They are very slow to react and have a much higher deadtime than the stock injectors. They have a much higher deadtime than even the 660 cc Denso injectors. If I recall correctly you need to add ~ .345ms to the stock deadtime numbers. This is your problem at idle.

If I am not mistaken your injector scaling number should around ~660

Cool, I'd say it's a fair trade

My Navy friends around here are the same way. In at 0730, out by noon while on the shore. BUT, the whole 6 months straight in a large metal tube with 120 other men under 4000 ft. of ocean water makes up for it. ha.
