Rescaling Axis

So after reading Malibujack's defense of the stock ECU and him mentioning his rescaled Axis points, it raised one question in my mind. Is it just so easy as editing the RPM point axis or is there additional things that need to be modified? I noticed when I scaled the ignition down from 11,000 to something more useable (8K) it automatically adjusted all of the maps not just the one I was working with. I am missing anything or is really that easy?

There are two RPM scales, and Two Load Scales (probably more than two)

When you adjust them, they will be reflected on most of the maps.. Even the load axis works that way.. It just happens that there are two different references for each that I've found, but otherwise its that easy..

When you change on of the Axis scales, all of the maps that reference that scale will change their axis scales. It's the same reason why, if you change the Load scale on the High Octane Timing Map, the Load scale for the Low Octane Map also changes.

Do you mind clarifying this point for me? I need to alter an additional rpm axis somewhere other than lets say all 6 ignition maps (as we covered this is done automatically when you tweak one)? Or am I misunderstanding what you meant?

so does changing the load scale alter the whole map rather than just adding more cells?

Altering any of the scales just changes the scale, it doesnt add or remove any more cells..

If you alter one map, you have to check the others to make sure they are all updated, if they arent, then thats the other axis that has to be updated.. Typically the fuel map has one RPM axis, and one load Axis, and the timing map appears to have the other.

so does rescaling the load to go over 260 take away a bit of resolution? does it take away lesser cells to add the greater cells?

It depends on how you rescale your axis.. you can remove columns not used as frequently and add additional load sites, where you won't lose resolution in critical areas, but may drop the less critical ones.. Same with the RPM axis..

Or you can set the highest load site you want, and then horizontally interpolate the values so their spaced evenly apart (not really recommended)

Take a spare rom that you can't ruin, and play with the different settings and see what you can do..

To learn how (and why) to change your load axis scaling look here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=211022

I work with tephraV7 and now i have a weird problem with rescaling the tables.

If i try to rescaling the Load tables (1) (under 70 load) it changes automaticly the RPM table (2) (over 6500 rpm), and if i try to rescaling the RPM table (2) (over 6500 rpm), it changes automaticly the Load table (1) (under 70 load).

But the problem i have only in the Main Map Fuel Settings with the two tables of High octane fuel map & Low octane fuel map. The Alternate Fuel Map work perfect. Hope somebody know this problem. Here a two picts of my problem:

what ROM are you using? upload your XML for people to check, but ultimately your addresses are incorrect and over lapping.

cheers
