It is hard to state in words the difference between "slip" and "dump". In other words one person's slip may be another's dump and visa versa.
A very small amount of slip is not so bad. Better to smell a little clutch than have broken drivetrain parts. Of course if you have a slow left foot the clutch will burn up.
