Perrin EBCS anyone?
If anyone wants to play with a 3 port solenoid with ECU control, and has an AVC-R, I have simply plugged in the AVC-R solenoid into my OEM boost solenoid plug and it worked. The "resistance" as measured by a DVM is similar to stock. Whilst the plugs obviously aren't designed to mate together, they do, and they hold, and the pins weren't damaged. I suppose it is possible my dual solenoid plugs are different as my car is JDM.
I actually noticed the same thing when I was playing around with my setup as I had an AVC-R installed. I would have left it if I didn't remove the solenoid to keep it with the AVC-R as a complete unit so I could move it to a different car or sell it.
Well, I ended up soldering the Perrin ebcs to the oem wires this afternoon. I'm running WGD cycles at 50%. I was a little nervous going WOT in 3rd but it turned out that I'm hitting max load of 210s when the stock rom calls for 239, so I'm going to slowly raise the WGD.

I'm just researching the Perrin EBCS. What I would like to know is if you guys feel a decent EBC like the Greddy Profec-S would be better than rigging the perrin unit into the system?
Just way more control. The Apexi AVC-R is close but it costs a crapload more money.
I'm only interested in running 20psi daily give or take a few psi here and there ...... and running ***** to wall on the track with 110 octane.
What are the cons of using a simple EBC instead?
