Your multiple order equations may be more accurate (I trust your math) however. In the real world that above equation has served me well for years.
Its fine to use that correlation as long as you understand that its accurate only over a limited range of temperatures. I could tell you the temperature range where its accurate, but I don't have the plots with me right now.

I dug up my plot of jcsbanks 1G DSM data, and the -1.45x+308 correlation does not match up with jcsbanks data anywhere except at the very highest temperatures. Don't know whether the data jcsbanks supplied are correct or your equation is correct, but I do know that if I used your equation for Evo coolant temperature, it would say that the coolant temp of my Evo reached 265F whereas jcsbanks data would way it was 182F.

Any info from this group on the 1G EGR temp vs ECU output?

I don't know why my MMCd values were "accurate". It matched up to my VDO temp guage just fine.

However when I put the values from this post in evoscan it is accurate to that car as well. 193 degrees the fan kicks on and it drops it down to 184 degrees F or so in the evo.

Hey as long as it works.. then the data is valid enough to use.
