Changing mivec map...few Qs?
Changing mivec map...few Qs?
I'm currently running the JDM IX RS mivec map that was posted on the other thread. My car was tuned back in February. I loaded this map the other day and I like the fact the the car spools a whole lot better, at low speed driving the car just feels lighter.
I do not have a way of logging AFR yet, I will be taking the car to a dyno shop in a few day to check my AFR. So my questions are:
Does changing mivec map changes AFR?
Do I need to get my car retuned to run this map?
Anyone that have used this map or currently using this map, can you give a little feed back? cons and pros?

It has very good spool. It doesnt have as excellent top end as is possible however. To answer your questions:
Yes and Yes.
AF changes because there is now more air at any given rpm and load because the cam is advanced letting more in and increasing cylinder pressure. Depending on how you have it tuned you most likely dont need to worry too much about leaning it out, but ignition timing will need to be reexamined. Despite alot of the extemporaneous crap in the thread there is a MIVEC tuning thread. I have taken down the pic of my map because of personal reasons, but I think there are some others in there.
