Anybody have a creative way that they strapped their lap top to the seat or somekind of mount in your glove box? any ideas would be cool and pics would be even better.

Fast and Furious style. Have the middle of the passenger seat bottom open up.

Just do a search for carpc on this forum. I don't think I ever posted pictures of mine on this forum, but you will see a few others that have done it here.

Also, go check out www.mp3car.com.

Basically, you can build a PC for your car to run your engine management, gps, movies, games, music, camera, or whatever you can think of. Some people get a motorized touch-screen, like myself, or some build a touchscreen into the dash area.

If you think your gonna want to keep a computer in the car, hooked up to the ECU for flashing and loggin, this is the way to go.

But... hey l2r9gst, can you turn your car PC on with the ignition off.

In my particular setup, no, but it is possible. I just chose not to hook up the power switch. I have a power supply that is hooked into the switched power so that the computer comes on with switched power. It's a PS meant for an automotive environment that monitors voltage, with a shutdown controller, etc, so that the computer stays on even when the car is off to properly shutdown, hibernate, or whatever you want.

But, to answer your question, yes you can turn it on with the ignition off, but in my setup I chose not to implement that.

When I AutoX I jam mine between the passenger seat and center counsle (cover shut of course) and it holds it pretty tight. It is in the way of the e-brake a little though.
