Strange Fuel Problem
Strange Fuel Problem
I'm having a very weird fuel issue for all of you experts out there. I've spent many hours trying to identify the problem but have had no success. Here is what is happening:
No matter what gear I am in or at what RPM, the FIRST gear that I go WOT in is very lean (12.0-12.9:1). In that first gear at WOT, it seems the car pays no attention to any of the values in the fuel table, no matter what they are. After that first gear in WOT, the immediate following gears under WOT are perfectly aligned with what I have in my fuel table. I have literally tried putting almost the entire section of the fuel table that is under boost pig rich (7.4:1) just to see what would happen, and the same problem still occurs. Then I flashed a stock ROM to the car, and the same problem exists.
The only thing I can think of is possibly an 02 sensor. I know one of my 02 sensors is bad because at idle the car will lean out to the point of stumbling or stalling - again totally ignoring the values in the fuel table. But, when I unplug the O2 sensor, this problem goes away and at idle the car will adhere to the values in the fuel table. Is it possible that a bad 02 sensor is causing the ecu do some strange things in the first gear under WOT?
