Question about boost level and knock with a flash
Question about boost level and knock with a flash
So I got a new rom from a highly regarded tuner on here and while everyone else seems to feel tons of power and no knock I am not getting the same results. I have a stock IX with nothing but an HKS hybrid drop-in and this was an email flash. Log attached...
I have a late model IX which apparently had the boost cut back some from the earlier models and I only boost maybe 1.2 bar max tapering back to 1 or below. I am having speedelement install a Hallman mbc on Monday and my question is how will being back at "normal" boost pressure (~20psi) affect my tune and should I expect better or worse than I have right now with the reults from these logs? The person that did the flash said that changing the boost characteristics would change the tune quite a bit and that he would need new logs once the mbc is in to be able to adjust it which is fine but I want to get an idea of what I should expect and if it will be safe to run the current flash with the higher boost. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

11 sec -- we may have a custom tune day in VA with John if you are interested. You could get before and after dyno results to show your gains as well if you are interested...

We need 2500rpms to 7500rpms logged in 4th gear.
Then a log rolling into a 1-2-3-4th gear pass like drag racing.
This should provide ample info.
TTP has both E-flash bases as well as full RemotEflash(tm) custom tunes available. If interested, send us a PM. Thanks
All is well now but thanks for your input everyone. I had speedelement install a hallman mbc and dyno tune my car. I'm now putting down 270.4awhp/290.8awtq on EIP's mustang dyno and am very happy. I should've just went with a custom dyno tune in the first place.
