out of stock injector...
i am having a hard time getting my logger to work, i need to reload it i believe...
but tuning our shop evo ix using the following..
stock turbo
walbro
open element intake
helix upper ic, hpf lower
megan header
megan o2 housing
dc downpipe, evo2 catback
i am targeting 7.9 afr on the top end and still leaning out to about 11.2-11.3 afr.... this is at 23psi tapering to 20 psi at redline....
i havent had this problem on similar cars ive been tuning lately... but obviously i wasnt as aggressive on our customer cars...
going to try another fuel pump.... this one is Exceptionally loud compared to any others we have ever used....
anyway....
maybe time to throw some 680's in

You may have a bad fuel pump if your unable to get it to respond at all and your at 100% duty.. But the trick is to lower the boost and see if its NOT at 100% and not doing anything..
I wrote off my stockers two days after I did my turbo swap.. Up until then, I was running stock injectors on a stock pump, 23psi with 11.5afr's and really just licking at 99% duty
if your maps are at 7.6 and your AFR"s are still lean even at lower boost then check the pump.. It may not be the case, but if they are whining, generally their making contact with something (or the insulator isn't on good) but if their making contact, then the parts rubbing together will cause friction and wear, and lower pump output and potentially overheat the pump.

The bad news about using the wrong spacer/insulator is that not only will it whine loudly, but it won't seat 100% properly and will not draw enough gas (leak air or just not draw enough vacuum)
Occasionally the pump is internally bad, if that is the case you'll also get a loud whine, and low output, but the pump can overheat and shut off, or the nylon internals can wear and possibly freeze (melt together)
My IX's injectors are also maxxed (or near enough) out at the top end with similar mods except the headers, but broadly similar AFR and maybe just a little extra boost. If I put much richer numbers in the map at the top it wouldn't richen much/at all. This is expected if the injectors have no more to give.
Some Ecutek mappers have found similar, although I don't think they usually push this hard on customer cars.

Yep agreed.. assuming the Walbro is working fine, and your injectors are at 100% IDC, then your not getting anything more..
I never hit that point though with the stock injectors, I removed mine before i had a problem and upgraded injectors and pump a week after my turbo install.

Do check the FPR too.. sometimes its the FPR thats unable to supply the pressure at the required boost level ..
Most of these were found when I got fuel pressure gauge installed in vehicle .. a dropping fuel pressure points to either a faulty pump or FPR ..
