major screw up

OK I think I screwed something up bad. I think I may have flashed my imobilizer code into my init code setting. Now the car wont start and I cant get into the rom to change it. No known code is what Im getting for an error message. Any thoughts?

Mmmmmm Beer... MMMM.. Nudie bar...

anyway, thats the REAL purpose for this tool.. You can recover an ECU thats in a bad state.. Not only that, but most ECU's that would have been considered "Dead" from a bad flash in the past can be recovered too..

Jack I wonder why your stock 03 rom wont start my 04. Just cranks over like a bad imob code.

There are some differences with different years.. However an 03 and 04 should work with the 94170008 rom as long as the immobilizer code is correct.. But I don't rule out anything anymore..

The rule of thumb is that you can use an 03-05 ECU in any 03-05 Evo, AS LONG as the rom you flash onto it, is for the same year of the car.. That minimizes any question..

Although I have never attempted to run different rom version from newer cars on my 03, I can't say from first hand experience what roms definitely work with what year cars..

Actually, I think I noticed on the earlier 2002 (Evo VII rom) that the coil or injector outputs are swapped compared to the 2003(trying to recall this from memory).. I wonder if there is some relevence to the 2004 and 2003 ECU's.. In reality, only a bad immobilizer code should do this if there are no wiring differences in the 03 and 04.. The 05 is different simply because it lacks the Intercooler sprayer electronics, I'm not aware of any other major differences except for the ACD on some cars which shouldn't interface with the ECU at all..
