Hi

Just had my zeitronix zt-2 installed today, did a 4th gear pull on the way home and the boost peak was >23 psi.

Car is a standard JDM VIII MR (UK FQ-300). The map is totally standard (read from ECU tonight with ECUFlash) so the boost limit hasn't been touched.

As I understand it, the car should hit the fuel cut @ 1.2 bar, but it doesn't.

Could this be a dodgy reading from the zt-2 or am I missing somthing?

What does the boost read in 3rd gear?

My car tends to increase boost with increased load. I see higher boost in 4th and 5th gear. I see higher boost going up hill too.

Don't know what the boost hit in 3rd gear, but the 4th gear pull was up a hill too.

Tomorrow night, I plan to do some logging to get a better idea. I'll log each gear I think and have a proper look.

 

if everthing is premapped.. im sure its fine.. tons of engineering is put into those FQ cars.

i would log all the gears like ya said you plan on doing and look out for knock. no knock, no problem.. i have a few friends that run that much boost on 93. i run 22 pounds and i could run 23 if i wanted to, but i would perfer to have a wideband to tune for that
