Spinning is better then blowing a tcase, that power has to go somewhere hehe. A little spin is good, too much spin and your blowing your 60' times. Try lowering your launch control some, or get a shep tcase.

Mines at 5900, stock clutch IX 6 speed. I dropped it a touch from 6k and noticed I can cut consistent 1.7's with full tire pressure. Just pull your foot off the clutch as fast as you can, tires will squeel a touch and she MOVES. Best 60' so far is 1.72 and it doesnt feel like Im killing the car since the tires still squeel a bit.

I still have restrictor too. Actually from what Ive heard, its not a good thing to remove. Id rather let it slip the clutch a tad then blow up my tranny.

Last time I was at the track, I was getting lots of wheel hop coming out of the whole, which I know is very bad and I lifted immediately.. I was launching anywhere from about 5600-5800 with a method like 20psiMR described above, quick coming off of clutch.. Anyhow, I had one decent pass where I cut a 1.74 60' time w/ just some slight spinning, next pass I cut a 1.73 60' time after letting off because of wheel hop..

Anyways onto my question.. Is it my launch method, tires, track prep, etc. that is more than likely causing this wheel hop?

BTW my 2 step is at 6k but have always used the method I stated earlier..

Yeah, on my VIII, I removed the restrictor and added the SS line. But everytime I would launch, I would be scaried to drop it too fast, and inturn would drop it too slow, burn the clutch and get terrible 60ft times (+2.0).

With my IX, I left the restrictor and OEM line. Now Im not scaried to drop it really fast, and I get better 60ft times (1.8 consitently).

6200...I don't launch anymore cuz I didn't lift fast enough the first time and burned the clutch pretty bad. Still very drivable but noticeable engagement difference.
