would i be seeing any boost using the Stationary rev limit??

or is it just a way to hold ur RPM's to assist in launching?

Yes you will see boost. I see somewhere in the ballpark of 10psi but it's been last season since I've used it so I'm not exactly sure other than you will see some.

such a useless post..

ghoonk, i used to have a 2 step limiter on my supra.. a great tool when launching especially when having such a big turbo to spool (HKS T51R). basically what it does is, it retards your timing to the point where the spark ignites when the exhaust valves are right about to open, causing some of the combustion to get released from the cumbustion chamber into the manifold thus ur turbo, and spools the turbo to a decent level of boost while the car being stationary.

How many counts of knock are people getting during stationary rev limit bouncing?

Is it potentially harmfull?

two step launch is when you build boost before you launch...

until you line up with z28 with a stall converter and slicks and slips a 1.5 under your nose withstock engine internals.

How can you pull a 12 hour (all day long) 60' in just 1.7 seconds? You pulled a 43200 sec 60ft all day long.JK

Seriously, maybe I'm too cautious but launching 300 AWTQ under 15lbs boost at 5000 - 6000 rpm to me seems to be beating the crap out of your car for a 1.6sec 60'. In the long run, even though you nothing broke and 60ft was good, your ET and MPH will be hurt from all the timing the ecu pulls from the rev limiter generated knock. Log a run and see

C6C6CH3vo is right. If you log your 2 step the knock is absurd. If I bounce off it more than twice I am pissed because I know my ecu will pull timing to recover from the knock.

My 2 step is set at ~5600 with an Exedy Twin HD. I really only use it for consistent launches.

Stationary rev limit - fuel cut/knock/fuel cut/knock/fuel cut/knock/ Low Octane maps /fuel cut/knock/fuel cut/knock, and (esp if low octane maps are the same) - clutch out - clunck, pop cladang sputter. "Hmm, I smell gear oil - GL4. Crap! I smell GL5 too"

But if you don't mind paying for the sport, I bet it feels good

[QUOTE=TeStUdO;4200564]C6C6CH3vo is right. If you log your 2 step the knock is absurd. If I bounce off it more than twice I am pissed because I know my ecu will pull timing to recover from the knock.

So if I get this right when it bounces off the rev limiter(stock 5000) the ecu pulls timing and takes awhile to recover losing any benefit you get from building boost at the line? So thats why setting higher than stock(5000) allows you to get above 5000 so when you launch you don't bog or hit the limiter right?
