The ignition map is target ignition timing the ECU is trying to hit, in perfect conditions.

Last time I checked stock 9's don't have full 3" turbobacks, LICP's and a bunch more boost up top.

Remember the stock ECU tapers Boost up top.

That jump to less fuel in column 280 and 300 gives me the shivers.

Even if the car shouldn't hit 280-300 in 5500 rpm and above with street boost it still scares me. You never know what could happen.

When I look at my timing map...is that actual timing? Absolute timing the car is running?

Or is that map an adjustment map of sorts....so if I have a value of '5' in a cell, I am advance 5 degrees over the car's base timing? Or is it literally 5 degrees?
No it is not the actual timing. That is the target timing. If you log the timing and plot it on a timing rom image it will be slightly off. There are factors that interfere that sometimes prevents you from hitting the target, eg, knock.

Yeah...I am still tuning that area. The reason being that I pretty much never hit those loads so it's hard for me to guess what the values should be.

My current loads that reach into the 270's show very rich...so I had to lean out the 280's.

It's a big jump I know, but until I start hitting the 270's more on my logs, I really don't think it should be a concern.

Suggestions?

Well, if something happened, I would rather the car go too rich than too lean.

Yeah.
In the cases that I have gone up that high, those fuel values have still been running the car into the high 10's. I thought that was pretty strange.

More logging for me.

I think you have more of a chance blowing your motor with a mail in flash.

Stupid people usually know right away if they can't handle it. Mildly intelligent people realize how not-difficult it really is. Others who have no clue assume tuning is to be done by some higher power or elephant god or something.

Foxwoods!
