Ignition Timing E85 vs 91 octane
Differences between ignition timing on the same car, with the same mods.
Only change is fuel.

You can see the power differences here:

Everytime I tune with this fuel I am all smiles, you can probably guess why.

Huge jump..I'm waiting to see if I can run the same timing with with th e-70 winter blend..Being as though it gets chilly at night over there I am wondering what % of ethanol you guys actually get, but it probably stays the same year round regardless..

I believe we are on the winter blend already according to that chart that was going around here awhile back :

Also you might run a little more timing. The above was a Evo 9.
I run a couple degrees more on my 8 on E85.
Also the above is about 1* back from MBT since it's a customers car and it gets driven at autocross and track events.
Do you increase the timing much on the part throttle maps as well? I noticed that I was able to run absurd amounts of timing at WOT on my DSM. As in, I was running 12 degrees at 7500 and with more load I was running 24 degrees at the same RPM with no knock still. Then my clutch let out and I had to park it for the year.
I was able to bump my timing a full 5 degrees at peak torque, looks like you could only get a few more degrees in. Must be an evo thing.

well I guess here is more proof that all cars are different. amazing how some like timing where others like boost or leaner a/f.
my meth timing looks pretty much like yours except i got 6* peak timing 3500RPM
and 20* timing at 7,000RPM.

High 27 peak and 20 at 7k+
Yea timing is changed all over. I spent a bunch of time/miles/fuel mapping on my personal Evo 8 for E85. Of course the 9 is slightly different in timing but the strategy does carry over.
The above is 1-2* below MBT as it's a customers car and he autox and tracks it so I wanted to keep it safe.
I've found E85 is usually not a knock limited fuel. You get to a certain point and it will not knock, even beyond MBT. The dyno is good tool when tuning E85 as you can see when you go beyond MBT. Road tuning for knock might get a rod through the block.

That's quite a bit of timing. These values are 2-4 deg higher than my values from 5000-7000 rpm. Pretty amazing that these values are still 1-2 deg below MBT. BTW, are you checking the plugs for det?

Yes checked plugs, all fine. I actually had to pull them to gap them down as they where misfiring, even at the same boost levels as his 100 tune.\
Also, above I stated that E85 can be a not knock limited fuel. I can/do see noise at peak boost/torque if you push it, but out the top 5k+ it usually is VERY hard to see any noise even beyond MBT.

Yeah, I've got to figure out some sort of quiet highflow air intake setup.
How many cars with Stealths have you tuned? I could be convinced to try something different if there was another exhaust that was as quiet but flowed better.
