Unable to read ECU

I just got my tactrix cable yesterday. The black wire to the white plug had come undone during shipping, but I reconnected it a little more permanently. I can get OBD data through mitsulogger, but I am unable to download ROM image. It attempts all the init codes, then says it is unable to connect. I've used a friends cable and have pulled my ROM off and reflashed successfully before. The car is a 2006 Evo IX MR, the cable is the 1.3 universal. I've used 2 different laptops with no effect. The drivers are installed and it shows "openport 1.3 universal TX25lxOY" in the lower right corner of ecuflash when connected. Is there anyway to determine if the cable is bad?

depending if the car has been flashed by certain tuners, the ECU might be locked. if its stock it could be something else. check this thread out, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=247786

Thanks! Its probably the cold/battery thing. I'll give it a go again later.

Maybe you could let your friend take the cable and trying to pull a ROM off his car with it.

If he was able to pull it off with his cable and not yours, then its simply your cable. Seeming in how it was separated during shipping, it most likely the culprit

His car is in several pieces right now. My cable works, its just the same cold/low battery issue as all the other IX'x.
