Evo 8 with ecu-based boost control

Had some more fun with my personal EVO 8 on the dyno doing some more R&D with our 100% ecu-based boost control. Previous power on this car was 320whp with a MBC, all other mods the same.

She is basically maxed out now with the mods and how much I want to push the car. I could probably get some more out of her with bigger boost and leaner AFRs but it's not really how I tune so... let's just say I can't wait to see what the FPgreen I have on order will do.

Run down of the power mods since I haven't posted them in awhile:

GST ECU-based boost control at 26psi peak.
Vishnu cat-back
RRE Rally cat
Espelir 2.75" DP
K&N drop in (stock airbox)
Nisei LICP
HKS 272/272 cams
ARP head studs
MR BOV
HKS cam gears as +1/-1 (could probably gain some power here but I like these settings)
Denso 720cc injectors
Walboro Fuel Pump
Stock 05 turbo, 02 housing, exhaust manifold (all unported)
100 octane unleaded VP racing fuel
11.5 AFR

For power perspective this mustang dyno reads very close to Buschurs dyno.

Nice thing about the car now is that when the torque starts to fall the horsepower takes over. Also notice that the car keeps over 310whp untill past 7400 rpm

Stealth power.

Hey Bryan - what kind of numbers did you get on 91 octane? Are you running 100 octane all the time now?

I haven't done a 91 octane tune yet with the ECU-based boost control. I run 100 octane all the time now (car is a weekend car).

I will however being doing a 91 octane and 100 octane tune once I get the FPgreen on the car.

That has to be the best number out of a stock 8 turbo on that dyno. Good stuff.

This is way off topic. Razorlab, did you by any chance have a rsx and was a member on clubrsx.com?

If so, this is teamxrsx.

Back on topic, nice numbers on the stock 05 turbo using the 9.8cm turbine section.

nice power...

interesting the hp@50 and weight numbers are not what mustang supplies...

but good power nontheless...

their dyno reads similar to ours.... we flashed a ix 2 weeks ago with injen intake and uicp, fuel pump, megan mani, megan o2, forge unos, dc downpipe, espelir catback... and it made 343/340 (weather corrected.... like 358/350 uncorrected)...

thing was a monster... those are good numbers on a mustang dyno!! good work

here is that ix at 21.6 psi.. (the 343whp pull was at 24.5-25 peak on 92-93 octane)...

this was 336whp/316wtq

just for reference..

Interesting. I've had the car in the database for 2 yrs and totally forgot it had those numbers in it.

We use 15.10 and 3500 now. I should switch mine and see if it changes much. I know I tested it awhile back and the power really didn't change at all.

Either way, the big power came with switching from a MBC that I have used for years and years to ECU-based boost control. The ability to custom tailor the boost curve and have it hold more boost at peak HP was instrumental to the power gains.

We don't use WC at all. It was about 6XF or so yesterday. Yea over 300whp on this dyno is no joke. Most 9's with TBE, drop in, MBC and LICP make 29Xwhp/29Xwtq on our dyno.

23Xwhp/23Xwtq for a strong stock 9. 05 8's make about 220-225, 03-04 8's make about 200-215

Nope, never owned a RSX.

It's a 05 turbo, so it's using the 10.5cm hotside.

It will be very interesting to see what you can extract from your FPGreen. You and I have strikingly similar mods except for the cam timing.

Will the Ecu based boost control be available for sale to the public? That will be an excellent addition to those who race in T2 and are limited to only flash their ECU.
