I don't know the address of the stationary limiter on this rom. Apparently the current definition doesnt have it included either.

Someone will be able to look at the rom and either give yo the new offset or update the definition file. Its probably pretty easy to find I just have so much going on that I can't look for it at the moment.

Thanks, Jack

I had the same problem, and was hoping someone on this forum could point me in the right direction on how to get the offset or how to update the definition file to get the stationary rev limiter working. I'm going nuts trying to figure out how this works

Seems Yahoo Briefcase is not allowing me to set that file to public, so I've tried another folder: http://us.f13.yahoofs.com/bc/441e590...HrLBGB6KIhTbxF

Thanks, jcsbanks

Still not working. Have you tried the JDM 8MR xml I posted on openecu under my tag S54fan?

Update: robert's found the file to be locked. It's the original HEX file i downloaded from my ECU, so I'm taking his advice and posting it here (http://www.box.net/shared/gl54ozq4tf) in the hope that someone is able to help..

The definition file can be downloaded from http://www.box.net/shared/c1ck1kf0ak

Thanks in advance

Update #2

I took jcsbanks' advice and downloaded his JDM 8 MR map and compared the rev limiter and speed limit addresses with the ones on my map and found them to be the same. I proceeded to update the stationary rev limiter on my map with the value of 2b4a as used on the stock JDM 8 MR map and received a value of 20,000 (20,000 rpm launch value?)

I will upload my map with this address set for the stationary rev limiter and set the rev limiter to 3000 rpm to see if it works.

If it does, would be be correct to assume that if vehicle speed is zero, and I put my foot down on the throttle all the way, the rpm will not rise beyond 3000 rpm? Or does it look to see if the handbrake is engaged? I know some launch control systems that check for the handbrake signal and thought it would be work checking before I try this out tomorrow

Still can't download the file from the link.

Some launch limiters are set really high and there is something in the high byte as well as the low byte. One you zero the high byte you can then set the low byte. Without your ROM I'm blind though.

8MR JDM has stock limiter at 7969.

How do you mean it is locked?

UPDATE:

No luck. Scott from TTP has had a go at the map, and I have not heard from Jestr over email or AIM (does anyone know what's happened to him?). jcsbanks has had a go at the map as well, and no one has been able to find the stationary rev limiter address in the ROM.

What should I do now? Start from scratch again with a new definition? I'd gladly upload my base rom and definition, and have no issues paying again to get this done right.

I wish I could find Jestr, but he has been nowhere to be found over the last few weeks and has not been replying to any emails. I really need help with the launch control soon, and any help I can get right now will be very very much appreciated.

I found what I thought was the rev limit value, but unfortunately it doesnt work. Its possible that there is a flag disabling the feature in addition to the value.. But Never found anything relevent.

I've found the stationary rev limiter very hard to find from the code, I previously found it from the expected value of 7969.

The trouble I have is that I'm looking for an address that is compared with RPM - obviously there are loads of them, and if you don't know the standard value it makes it very tricky. If I had something more specific to go with it or a recognisable routine I might struggle less.

For finding many other items there are other things you can look for - eg MUT table requests, unique bits of code etc.

Exactly. I'm not sure why, but mine seems to the only map Jestr and Scott (and now you and MJ) have seen where the launch control address cannot be found.

If I had the base map to start with all over again, would any tuners be able to find the address of the stationary rev limit? Or is this a hopeless cause?
