Should I'd be flashing soon?

Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2003 Evo. Here is a list of my parts I am not sure if I need anything else before I get a flash from Jester

HKS Hi-Power exhaust
Straight pipe
HKS Downpipe
HKS RS filter kit
HKS SSBQ with pipe VTA

I will be changing out my HKS Downpipe to an RNR 3" DP

My main question is , should I install a upgraded fuel pump?

What else should I install before I get the flash?

Thank you for you inputs

looks good except for the VTA BOV. i'd recirc it if i were you but that's just my opinion. yes, you should get a fuel pump and i'd reccommend a MBC too since the stock BCS isn't the best boost control solution. and if you add anything later, flashes are only $50 a pop so it won't break the bank.

HKS rs filter will really mess your tune up - it will go super lean at low to high loads at 2500 to 4500rpm.

Fuel pump -yes

I had the Hallman Pro and thought it was great produt. However I know people who swear by the Forge. I don't think you can really go wrong with either.

walbro 255 lph fuel pump is good. and i run a hallman mbc, but from what i hear the forge unos is just as good. don't worry about IC pipes unless you want to pick up a lower one, but the improvement on the stock turbo and pump gas boost are negligible. recirc that damn BOV if you're going to run it at all! i personally sold my HKS, it was recirced, but i still thought it made the car run kind of crappy.

I was thinking of the Walbro pump also, can't go wrong for under 100.00

HKS RS filter leans out at 2500-4500? Can Jester flash a fix to this problem?

The HKS BOV, is it really that bad? What other ones that are proven to be better or should I just forget about the BOV altogether

As for IC pipes and such, I think I am going to wait til I get a turbo kit upgrade

Does anyone know that, if M1 from jester will delete the speed govenor and raise the redlines?

I will just go with a Hallman MBC, I have been seeing them progress since the DSM dark ages, and many of my buddies install it on their turbo hondas. But does it matter what model I go with?

Thanks Guys

yes, jestr can take off the limiters, if you have a IX, keep the stock DV, hallman pro. the tune should make the car run fine with the filter, although the hks unit isn't the best at filtering the air.

I have the 2003 Evo8

I will get the halman pro MBC, hope the HKS RS filter is ok to run without any problems

Anyone has any problems with the HKS BOV?

How about injectors, should I hold of til I get the turo kit bc it might come with the kit

Thanks

you can do a tune now

the best solution
*walbro 255 fuel pump
*manual Boost Controller + Boost cauge
then send the ecu to jestr
after that get
* Cams
then Retune and see how your car runs it'll be a beast !

there are many people having problems with the HKS BOV , the evo doesnt like it at all
also keep in mind when buying an intercooler pipping, only the lower IC pipe that counts where it puts the real HP ..

you wont need injectors now ! .. you'll need them when you get a turbokit and also an Intercooler

in 03 evos the Clutch are their weakest point, just think of doing a clutch upgrade in the Future ! ..

I do have future plans for clutch kit, but I am not sure whats a good one. I am thinking the XTD 6 pad kit , its cheap under 300 complete and I will prolly get the lighten flywheel while i am going to change the clutch.

I will install the HKS BOV and see how it does first and then go from there.

As for the lower IC pipe, its all the same right?

What is the best set of cams, the 272 in/ex or the 280 in/ex

Thanks
