Evoscan v.99 Problem

I have a fresh Tactrix cable and a fresh copy of Ecuflash and just downloaded Evoscan. Ecuflash works great, can load ROM's and all. Evoscan runs, and I can play with settings and guages and such but it will not connect to my car. When I start datalogging I get

"Initializing at 5 baud-
Initialization complete
Waiting for INIT response"

then it does an auto-reconnect with the same message until kingdom come. I've re-started the car, re-attached cables, everything I could think of, but no avail.

Any help?

Re-installed both, no worky.
Trying Mitsulogger right now...

Edit: Great news! Mitsulogger won't even start. I guess I'll just hang tight for a solution. Thanks for any responses.

sounds like drivers to me..

uninstall ecuflash, and any ftdi drivers...

then reinstalll ecuflash (1.30) which should have the newest drivers...

UPDATE:

I still have not found a solution for this problem on this laptop. I've re-installed the drivers and software upwards of 5-6 times to no avail...

However I tried the exact same downloaded software, cables, etc. on my dad's laptop, it connected first time and works like a charm. Mitsulogger still won't run, but Evoscan runs like a top.

So to people having this issue: Maybe borrow a family member or friend's Laptop and if it works try to borrow it for your logs...

I suspect your problem with Mitsulogger is needing the .NET 2.0 stuff.

Drivers are always "Iffy" when it comes to upgrades over time. Its highly likely you have old drivers and new drivers mixed together and they aren't cooperating. The only way to fix that is to delete/uninstall all remnants of the older drivers. Some serial devices and other products out there also share the same drivers, so keep that in mind.

Thanks MJ, although I did take the time to install .net 2.0 before running your software--don't worry its no biggie. Not everything works for everyone.

Also- I've completely deleted those drivers on the non-working laptop many times, reinstalled with Ecuflash1.3 drivers, still no worky. I'm pretty sure this laptop is just FUBAR
