evoscan No response from ecu(ecuflash work)

I recently purchase a new computer just to keep in the car for tuning. Its an Eee Asus.

I copied my evoscan from my external HD over to my new laptop.
Downloaded ecu flash v1.42
Downloaded .net framework v3.5
Downloaded ELM 327

Verified port 1 for my tactrix1.3 cable on device manager and on evoscan.

Ext wideband unchecked and unhooked.
I have also tried connecting it and checking it with same response.

I have installed evoscan on two other computers and never had a problem. However one is no longer working due to a processor failure and the other is no longer mobile due to a laptop case failure.

I am obvisouly missing something and just cant seem to find out what it is. I have tried uninstalling the driver and re installing with no success.

Every time I try to connect evoscan I get:

Info: initialize vehicle ecu...
Info: initialize at 5 baud...
Info: initialize complete
Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
ERROR: No Response from Vehicle ECU

What am I missing guys??

I had a hell of a time getting evoscan to work on my eee. I must have uninstalled and reinstalled half a dozen times. What finally worked for me was changing the "super hybrid engine" to high performance (not super high performance or the other energy saving modes). To do this go to Start > programs > asus > super hybrid engine. Click on it and the setting will flash on the screen. Change it until it says High performance. Give that a shot.

hmm, on my eee I just downloaded the programs and ran. no net needed, no elm, now that I think about it I thought I saw net as being within the ecuflash 1.42 program.

It wasnt blocked. It was the stupid Eee. I found another thead talking about processor speed and there is actually an icon down in the tray to adjust. Once I did that it worked fine. I just hadnt been home to post up. So anyone with an asus that has hybrid controls adjust it to the HIGHEST level and it should come on as long as everything else is installed correctly. Thanks to everyone who answered.

yeah it is related to CPU processor timing. do you have a screenshot of where you changed this setting? what was the other thread post?

yeah it appears to be a bug in the kernel CPU drivers, perhaps Intel?, make sure you get an updated drivers from your manufacture. Reflashing also works in EvoScan fine, because relfashing doesn't require any timed commands, but the datalogging does.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to say thanks for the above comment! I banged my head against my steering wheel for about 30 minutes trying everything to get EcuFlash to read my ECU after reformatting my computer to W7x64...turns out it was the chipset driver! I got too lazy with W7's automatic driver installs... THANKS!

That's interesting. Dingus, what was the error message you were seeing?

I didn't manage to save the files since I was running late for work... But what it would do was try all the init sequences and then give the error about "no response from ECU". I guess there are some timing commands which are used in the init code that need the chipset drivers to work properly. This post also helped me out when I was trying to use my EEE PC for data logging.
