With ECUFLASH 1.26, 1.27, and 1.28 my ROM would be recognized as 96420008 (2004) and would have the same y axis wack as that - DONT CHANGE THE VALUES.

With ECUFLAsh 1.29 and up, my ROM was recognized as 96420007 and stepper look up was normal.

Her values are all wacky also

So if you find the fix let me know
Are you using 1.29a or 1.3?

If you attempt to change them to the normal looking values the ECU will see them as values as screwed up as the ECUflash is giving you, so don't change the values- it's just the software

Sounds like that 0008 definition is a little wacky. I think that definition I posted up is actually for 03's, I looked at a friends rom I have saved that I know for sure is an 03 and he used that one. So thats why it didnt work. I would upgrade to 1.29 if you havent already, and use the 0007 def. If you need it, I can post it too. I checked mine just now, c6 is right they come up with 96420007 and the stepper table looks just like yours only with correct axis.

I'll let you know if there a fix, i have tried a few different things, and i even went as far as rewriting the code in that Rom.

Im using Version 1.3.... which is the latest version. ... i understand but its the fact that some of the vaules in the X and Y axis are exactly the same, is whats bothering me. Your correct i could just leave it alone, but that would defeat the purpose of the thread.

right, the Axis is again what im talking about, its what messing up my values, if i change the defination, and or the adress, it messes up the entire map, im kinda lost as far as that goes

^ get rid of your existing definition in ECUflash and let it re-discover the ECU type and associated map. Might want to even uninstall ECUflash and make sure to get rid of (or at least move) all existing XML definition files before re-installing.

I think I did something like that when I installed 1.29a and then miraculously my ROM became the same as the ID lable and the look up was fixed.

I remember befor, back when it was screwd up (with the 0008 ID), I bravely pasted the correct values over my incorrectly looking values after being fed up with the way the ROM axis was presented. I started the car up and it ran just fine for 0.8 seconds, but suddenly the car stuttered and shut off while making a bunch of wrong sounding electrical clicking noises. I felt guilty so I changed the oil with some brand new (back then) Extended milage M1 oil and replaced her filter. I think she forgives me now by the the thrills I recieve but I also keep her drunk.

already did that too, I think what i might do is Flash the rom with a different ID number. And try rewriting the code for a totaly different rom. Or mixing just that portion of the code.....

I know im not explain it the best but, i will post my results.

It would probably be easier just to look at the hex code of your ROM and compare it to a known working 2004 ROM and then figure out where the axis reference for your ROM is at. That way all you have to do is fix the reference in the map.

I've have already tried to rewrite the code using another rom, Using a rom from another year, some roms i got from OPENEcu.Org and some others i found on the internet. So far, nothing yet. If i change the adress, and modify the rom, The rest of my tables ( Example: HIGH Octane, fuel map) values get messed up....

Malibu where are you!!

If you want to e-mail me your ROM file, I can take a stab at finding the right axis for you... might take me a couple of days, though. Kinda busy these days...
