EcuFlash Read from ECU Button
EcuFlash Read from ECU Button
I've downloaded and installed EcuFlash 1.30 on my laptop running Windows XP without any issues. However when I try to use the software to Read from ECU to get my stock flash and immobilizer code the button is greyed out and not clickable. Any help with this would be appreciated.
1) Are the drivers installed? (Does the lower right corner say the cable is plugged n?)
2) Is the cable a tactrix cable?
3) did the cable get detected when you first plugged it in? And did you plug it in for the first time before starting ECUFlash?
A few pointers to start with.

It happens really often, for one reason or another the drivers aren't installed, or the cable isn't installed for the first time before launching the app for the first time, so the cable isn't detected and the drivers registered.
I have been flashing without any problems but today I found out that I cannot read the ECU

I'm trying to download(read) image file... I've tried with and without white cable plugged in. I can datalog with logworks using open port and Evoscan I do this without the white cable plugged in
I would completely uninstall reboot and then reinstall ecuflash. I read somehwere and I think that the rommetadata folder or one of those contain the data for that window. I am really just a noob but if you drill into the program files\openecu\ecuflash folders you will see what I mean. If you have another computer you can install the application there as well to see what might be wrong
Is it possible your cable (the secondary or white plug part) has gone bad between your last write and the latest attempts at reading?
Oh well it's late and im not thinking 100% clear....
