Its really all personal preference as to what components you buy, and it really depends on how much money you are willing to spend. For me I am a big fan of the following:

1 - Zeitronix WB + EGT and Display
2 - Evo Scanner software
3 - Open ECU software
4 - Any laptop with a serial port connection, though you can add a serial port if need be
5 - Tactrix cable
6 - Fundamental understanding of how the ECU works

For the last part there is a lot of info here, so its pretty easy to find. You can also save a lot of money by just buying a tail pipe sniffer with the Innovate Motorsports LM-1, but you need to be sans CAT's if you go that route.

Actually if you go the Innovate route, the cheapest is to install an LC-1 ($199) - just have to weld a bung for the sensor to the end of the down pipe.

Go with the LC-1. I'd STRONGLY advise getting a boost gauge too!
