High knock count

I am seeing high knock counts in evoscan, is my engine in danger?

My mods are

Helix 272/272 gears set at +1/-3
20G-lt reg actuator
Ported/coated E.M.
LPI 3in TBE, TTP 02
Sun Hyper voltage
walbro, Pte 850cc's
S.M.A.R.T Xede/Xedeflash Tuned by Shiv, Wideband, Knock Box
Greddy E-01 Boost controler set at 21, spikes to 23 on high load.

I tryed turning the boost down a bit did another run(19.28.56.zip). Still knocking

Any advise would help me alot..

That is interesting someone else is having that problem. I have a SMART Xede setup as well ...I too am getting those goofy knock counts up high as well...

however, I think mine may be related to the fact my cross member under the down pipe is bent and the result is the downpipe laying across it....

Need to figure out how it got bent and 2) what to do about it??

I would suggest at least checking that portion out...

Way too much timing.

Interesting how the knock spirals upwards even thought the timing at 6.5k up isent that excesive. Shows that once knock gets going it can get out of control quickly.

Pull about 5 degrees out of the map in the mid range as a stsrt, or load the stock ignition map and work up from that.

I got downpipe clearence issues taken care of when I installed the turbo. Maybe I'll try taking my cam gears back to 0/0 and give it a wack..

Um 19 counts is most likely not the fault of the downpipe. 19 counts would pull somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-7* off your map, and you still ended up at 13* so that would lead me to believe that your mapped at 20* or so at that point.

Reduce timing before you end up buying parts that you wouldnt need to otherwise.

yeah I was battling a knock count of 9 that hits at 5800 and caries on @ over 4 to 6800 range with tbe & o2 housing and 20-21 psi. I thought my fuel was on the money and my timing was not very aggressive even compared to some 91 octane maps I have seen but when I had my car dynoed the shops widband read 12.5 when mine was reading 11.5. I put out a peak 330 hp and 308 tq with a broad and flat powerband on a dynojet. narowed it down to a bad free air cal on my part.

car is pulling too much timing....friend of mine pulled up to 8 counts at most, he replaced spark plugs and a radiator and that was it, 1 or 2 knock after that.

good luck mane

looking at your logs, you are in the 190 load region and 20+ degrees of timing. Airflow maxes out at 1400 . Use the map tracer posted to see what timing you are running at the load point. The logs show you are pulling at least 7 or more degrees. You are also running hot very fast ( 176 degrees going to over 200 quickly in the same run in 9 seconds ) I can run many back to back runs and never even see 195 degrees. Is this on 91 octane? Id change plugs to heat range 8 iridiums and check for overflow in the radiator. Peak timing should be 3-4 degrees at 240 load and ~10-12 at 190 load IMHO.

my off the shelfmaps from vishnu using the xede also looked like this i had to pull away timing from the maps
also if you where tuned for 0,0 your camgears then that maybe the problem runing advance camgears makes it more knock prone

I think he means that your car is constantly picking up knock so it is using the knock sensor to determine the correct ignition timing for the motor throughout the entire RPM band. Not good by any means. Get yourself a tactrix cable and ecuflash and take some timing out where it is knocking in the correct load tables, or just turn down the boost.

Looking a lot better but it looks to me like the timing ramp up from 12* to 15* near the 6300rpm range is causing the knock count to be so high. Timing needs to be lowered I dont think anything else will help...
