Did not save my immobilizer code and stock rom, now car won't start, HELP!!
Well, this is the first I've heard of it. Did you try contacting me about it? Hmm... I save all the images that get sent to me. If you sent me your correct ROM, then I will have that Immobilizer code.
Every once in a while I get roms with no code "FFFF" because some are paranoid about it, or they'll send me a rom that really wasn't theirs. For the most part, it shouldn't be a problem retrieving it.
Edit: Nevermind.... I just read that you tried copying an old map into your new car. Oh well, good luck!

Yeah...I just figured out the mistake I made is uncorrectable without paying a visit to the dealership.....
Thanks Jestr and everyone's input. I am calling the dealership in a couple hours when they opened and see what happen.
Okay here's the real deal..
You really cannot bypass the immobilizer code, I do know of a way to do it, but it doesnt work for every rom.
So a wrong code kinda hoses the car from starting.
There are two situations where the car won't start, and won't read.
Flashing an improper rom with an alternative Init Code from another car (IE A locked Rom from a wrong year or market car) OR getting your rom corrupted in transfer where the ECU doesn't quite start up, both of these circumstances can result in a car not starting, and not being able to be subsequently read or written. Under these circumstances the ECU Unlocker might help, as it triggers a hardware bootstrap that cannot be damaged by a bad/wrong/corrupt flash.
About the Immobilizer code, its kinda a "Lesson learned" sort of thing, people are sometimes gung-ho to work on their cars, and do this stuff, without taking the time to fully understand what it is that their doing. Not backing up your roms somewhere safe, somewhere else away from your computer, and WRITING DOWN your Immobilizer code.
This is why we always stress that its important to really understand what it is that your doing. This stuff isn't all that hard, but its easy to make a careless mistake that can cause you alot of pain, if you don't take a few precautions.
