CBRD project 2.3 454whp/378wtq

hey guys,

just an update..

our 2.3 shop car...

mix of C16 and 92 octane... (about 50/50)

26psi tapering to 24.5 made 454whp/378wtq knock free

we had been chasing some weird knock issues and it turns out it was misfiring from the HKS DLI2 unit...we removed it, went back to a stock heat range plug, closed the gap, and everything is fine now, up to 26psi...

anything over that misfires...

we got about half a pull in at 28psi, but it broke up bad...

454whp on our mustang is about 530-550 on a dynojet from what we've seen. the last car that came from a local dynojet did 414whp and did 338 on ours....

the mods are:

JAM 2.3 and JAM stage 5 head
GSC Custom Grind Cams
RNR gt35R .63 (being switched in conjunction with a new sponsor)
greddy evo 2 cat back (still has choke down at test pipe flange)
DC sports downpipe
38mm tial
AEM trueboost (love this controller)
850 FIC's
walbro

we will be going to a JAM cop ignition shortly... along with 1000cc injectors and their new intake manifold when its available..

i hope to make close to 600whp at high boost on the stock ecu, with the new turbo setup and 3.5" exhaust.

well, 8200 for track etc.. (i would consider this drag)

still has the balance shafts, so its smooth as butter..

i rev to 7700 on the dyno...
