titanium ... post up some logs man! we could probably give you some better input with the actual files. Your knock could be a result of timing changes/jumps and not necessarily the values themselves.

 

mrfred I am finally going to implement your suggestions on boost control tomorow. however in your sig you show 23.5 psi, is this what you are currently running with stable boost to 6k? when I am in the 5k neghborhood I currently see 248-252 load @ ~18-20 psi. this is with 2 byte and the jdm map.

 

Dang, that's a pretty impressive ratio of load to boost at 5k rpm. I've tinkering a bit with my boost levels over the last week or so because I'm finding that with my almost-stock exhaust, I can't hold the same boost without knock as I could in the winter. My most recent 4th gear log is shown below. I've currently got the boost tune to hold 22 psi from 3k-6k rpm, and then after 6k rpm, I have to taper it to stave off knock. I could hold 22 psi to 7k rpm if I wanted, but the car would knock.

I do intend to bring up the boost in the 3k-4k rpm range the turbo is most efficient. I'll probably be shooting to get back my 23.5-24 psi.
