Recently, my A/F has taken a strange twist on life... at part throttle, it'll be pegged in the low 10's (which never happened before) and sometimes even hitting high 9's. It's fine at WOT, just a bit richer than where it was tuned before. I ran about 16 or so logs at WOT and it came out fine (only a few instances of ~2 counts of knock... everything else the same as before). I checked all my vacuum hoses for leaks/rips/tears, and I plan on running a boost leak test. Could that be the problem or is there something else that I should be checking out like in ECUFlash? Thanks for any help.

 

Maybe your WB sensor is going bad. I had one gone bad the same way yours is reading now. Can you get another WB to confirm? ie... a dyno one to confirm accuracy!

Run a boost leak test is a very good idea.

 

I'll double check it... although I don't think it's bad. The car "feels" like the WB says (if that makes sense). I'm hoping this is an issue in my flash (which I've been told it's most likely not) since that would be easier to correct right now.

 

I would log the NB 02 and see if they agree or not. Get them good and warm and see if you're well over .96v or even into the 1.00+ range. Maybe your fuel trims are pegged and the ecu cannot compensate to help get you back to "stoich"

long term fuel trims, 02 feedback trim, condition of your stock 02 sensor as well as a few other things.

 

Hey bro... I though it was solved also, but it went to **** (again). Haven't really had time lately to fix it. As soon as I get a chance to run some logs I will, but I need to use someones laptop since mine is retarded (as in doesn't have the right serial port for my WB).

Let me know when's a good time for you (since I know you're always busy) and if you want to do it at your garage or mine (yup, got one now... moved to Ewa Beach). I gotta make a Home Depot run so I can build a boost leak tester. I think I *mighta* found the problem (or one of them)... I'll try and fix it tonight.

He says he looked for a boost leak, and nothing was found. I agree though, a boost leak would be my first guess (and was at the time this started happening).

Like I said, I even went through and checked/replaced some vacuum lines just in case... no luck. I haven't touched my flash at all. I thought the problem mighta been my stock upper pipe... I noticed that it seems to be pulling apart where the couplers are (both sides) on the first hard pipe from the throttle body (the one with the DV). There's no leak there.

 

you cant find a boost leak by looking.... well i guess you can if the hose is off or there's a hole that you can see...but...

the only way to know is leak test by pressurizing the system. good luck with whatever you do thou.

 

I spray windex liberally on suspect areas while there's pressure in the system. The bubbles/sound help locate the leaks.

 

Yup... I know this. I got a spray bottle full of Windex and an air compressor in my garage that I use.
