Knock Gauge and Alarm
I don't always drive the car with the laptop connected and would like to know if / when my car is knocking. I am thinking of fabricating a Knock Gauge that would record instantaneous and highest knock count, has anyone done this already? (Very similar to some AFR gauges...)
I think an alarm / buzzer / light could be incorporated too, alerting the driver of a potential issue. Thoughts?

Bez modified a ROM to flash the CEL when there was a ceratin amount of knock, that was user-definable. I worked a lot to get this patch to work for my ROM, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work. Maybe I will eventually get back to it again, but I just wanted to let you know that Bez has already successfully created a knock light.

Ok guys I am looking into having a nice gauge fabricated with a toggle button to show highest knock count. The gauge would reset upon ign. off.
I will look at the standard gauge sizes and try to offer different bulb options. No idea on cost yet, but I am going to guess that it would be ~$200.

So, to make a long story short, I do know how to patch my ROM for this, but you would need to disable the rear O2 vai the ECU Perephery map and then wire in an LED on the heater circuit along with the actual coding changes for the patch.
Maybe I will test this again in the near future, but I would really like to find a way to flash the CEL, since I want to keep my rear O2 enabled so that I can pass OBD-II emissions when the time comes.
