You"re usually on poiint, but I cannot agree with these numbers.

I block tune so that load cells 220 and 260 have nearly identical numbers in them. I only see 250+ load cells when I crank the boost and thats only done on race gas so I get nearly the same timing with more boost when I run race gas. My overall fuel map looks generic because the cell numbers are the same for the top three loads but it should be known that both boost and fuel conditions are changed when I reach the higher load cells.

(Basic cammed 2003 EVO 8) Here are my timing numbers...at 22psi on 93 octane.

3500 4*
4000 6*
4500 6*
5000 7*
5500 7*
6000 9*
6500 13*
7000 16*
7500 16*

A cammed VIII should be able to run more high rpm timing than that from the few I have tuned, everything else being equal.

We'll we are on other sides of the country (91 vs 93). I would ask you what put for timing in an VIII or a IX, but you wont share.

Yeah, a IX is knock resistant and can run more timing at peak torque, but an VIII usually runs more timing up top then a IX. Least in CA.....

I wouldn't be surprised if the X's are going to run not much more than 0* timing and 12.5:1 A:F from the factory due to efficiency

I was talking about peak boost timing. Sorry I did not clarify

I really appreciate the help guys. I love learning about this stuff. Is my timing in the 6000RPM range too high. It was showing no knock from 4500 to 6500... then bang, 10 counts.

still way too lean during spoolup and look at 3500... still knocking even though your timing is retarded. I bet the car is very slow like that.

You really need to focus on fixing the low RPM range before you move on to higher RPM

let me give you a few milestones to go after:

2500 12.0:1
2800 11.5:1
3000 11.0:1 and hold that AFR to redline

this is very basic and conservative but it should get you to where you can run a little more timing. then you can fine tune it from there.
