Service Engine Soon Light

All,
I am getting a service engine soon light on my 06 EVO 9 MR (Has 9300 miles on it) When I run the OBD Scan Tech - Generic tool it says the MIL light is on but there are no DTC's stored?
Is this a service warning (ie Oil change type stuff?) Any other tools that can read/reset this type of error? I do have a registered copy of evoscan but am waiting on an email to activate it. (Seems my older version did not require a serial number ?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my daily driver and I really dont want to have to take it to the dealer unless i have to.

Thanks
Ed

If you can't get your laptop to read it then I would suggest going to an autoparts store with an OBD reader to read it for you.

Evoscan doesnt pull DTC codes. Autozone OBDII reader or Scantech available on Aktivematrix for registered users. The Evo does not give DTC codes for maintenance (no system for this), a DTC code indicates a problem.

Make you select "Request Trouble Code" Then View it.
