service engine soon light need help
wat up guy the service engine soon light come on on the odometer any one know how to turn it off ?? also is that light mean i needed regular maintenance or there is something wrong with my engine? any help will be great thank.
Go to autozone and get the code pulled. If it something non-important it can easily be tuned out. I have turned off my p0300, EGR, and rear o2 sensor with out using a resistor with no cel now. If it is something serious you will want to know.( It sounds like nothing though)
Probably P0300.... most of the time the check engine light on an 8/9 is nothing to worry about if the car is running fine.
You can pull the code at autozone and post the code, or go come evodynamics if you are in DFW, and we can shut it off, and check to see that nothing is serious is going on.
P0300 is a standard code for evos it is "Random Misfire" which means the something didnt go exactly perfect on a spark so it throws a code... nothing to worry about at all. We can turn it and most of the other pointless codes off so you dont get them anymore.

ok just got back from autozone and it throw a po401 code which is a EGR problem, i still have my stock 8 dv and i am running about almost 23psi, i just bought a forge dv but not intall yet would it solve the problem if i have it install?
disabling the EGR isn't a good thing for a daily driven car. you will get worse gas mileage. the one benefit of eliminating it is that it keeps the intake manifold cleaner from the exhaust gases not coming in. its very easy to fix that code, and even if you don't do anything about it, its not going to hurt anything.
