Changing Immobilizer

Ok, I think I know how to do this, but I want to run it by you guys first. I peformed a search first, but didn't find much after about a half of a day. Maybe I missed something but dont rip me just yet. I have a 2003 Galant and swapping in the 2003 EVO 8 motor. I think from what I've read is that I have to find the value for my galant immbolizer and input that figure into the evo ecu all through ECUflash. But will this actually work? Or should I just get a evo immob.? Thanks for any help.

You need to find the location of the evo 8 immobilzer and replace it with your stock one. Another option would be to have username: "FlashblueRs" on club3g.com do it for you for $25. I have a 2000 eclipse and swapped out my ecu for a newer one that could be flashed, I needed the ecu immobilizer deleted and he did it for me, all you have to do is read your current ecu (the evo 8 one) and then send the file to him, he'll delete the immobilizer, send it back to you and then you just flash your ecu (evo 8 one) and the car will run like stock.

Or you can do it yourself. There is some information for this posted on AktiveMatrix about disabling the immobiliser completely.

Thanks for answering. I just went ahead with the stock evo ecu. My buddy said he could wire everything up with my stock harness to the evo ecu. who knows. I guess i'll have to trust him.

Your galant harness is same as evo except 2 sensors Wastgate solenoid and Fuel pressure solenoid u dont have to rewire whole thing unless u have Auto transmission Then it is not so easy.
