Galant Vr-4 tranny compatability w Evo?

Ok I have a friend that has a Galant Vr-4 and he has an extra tranny laying around. Would it fit on my evo?

I havent looked under the hood of his car before but I think the trannies were on the other side back then.

Can anyone answer this? Thanks in advance.

<offtopic> They make 5 speed Automatic transmission EVO's for sale in Japan only, with paddle shifters on the steering wheel even. I think that this would be a great conversion for someone looking for consistancy at the drag strip.</offtopic>
