98-00 galant VR 4 to evo 8?????????

my friend tell me , VR 4 automat tranny is same evo 7 GT-A tanny....

The 98-00 galant vr4 is a v6, isnt it? I would think that might create problems.

why would u want an auto evo... swap it to a stick if u have a gt-a

 

learn to drive manual. there is no point in an automatic evo

 

And regardless of it being off a V6, the transmission is on the opposite side of the car.

I don't think he wants an automatic tranny. He just said his friend told him that the VR4 tranny is the same as the GTA tranny, leading him to believe that the manual boxes are also the same.

From what I have heard they are indeed the same, and the newer 98-00 VR4's have the gearbox on the same side as the Evo. I am not 100% certain though.

 

When people hear Galant Vr4 they either associate to the 6G Galant Vr4 or the newer USDM watered down Galant. However, the 8G Vr4 has more things in common with an EVO than one might think. Exactly the same or not I don't know, but the 5sp trans is one of them. www.clubvr4.co.uk is the place I'd go for detailed answers.

my car is EVO VII JDM. but i have a problem whit tranny(
