I dont think the mirage turbo came with the 4g63 motor, I believe it had a 1.6 . The sexy vr4 galant is the big brother

I don't understand the question... isn't it simple?

there was the galant, mitsu put a turbo and awd in it, and it became the galant vr4
there was the mirage/base lancer (idk if it was called mirage in US only and always lancer oversea's or if it was a mirage oversea's also), then mitsu put a turbo and awd in it, and that became the evo

so whats the question?

They used to rally the galant vr4, that was what the works team used and the lancer evo was the replacement for that.

"The heritage didn't die out when Mitsubishi pulled out the Galant from the WRC at the end of the 1992 season. It was superseded by a newer and smaller car in 1993 that adopted the Galant's 4G63 engine and four-wheel-drive drivetrain - a car we now all know as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution."

Lancer Evolution is direct descendant of the Galant VR4. Specially in Rally.

I think the latest VR4 even called a Mitsubishi Galant VR4 Evo....
