For those of you wanting to JDM out your Lancer!
I actually saw an 08 Lancer parked next to Galant VR4 and the Lancer seems to be a futurized version of the Galant anyways...makes some sense but bad move on
's part...killing the Evo like Mazda killed the 7 with the introduction of the RX8

Not a "Galant"like you see here.
The Galant Fortis is exactly as our Lancer in looks and the same give or take performance specs and minus AWD for us.
There are a few exceptions, in Taiwan they changed the body to look more like a family sedan, so it could be that version you could have seen.

sorry but this lancer looks 100 times better than the new lancer we get
Oh I have never seen the Thai version of Galant Fotis, and as much as I hate the front fascia I think the rear looks a bit better than our US Lancer (it actually reminds me a bit of new Civic). I just hope Mitsu of NA won't get any bright idea in order to increase sales of the new Lancer and use that bland Thai front fascia for our Lancers when they'll do the next update. Anyway, for all the lazy people I have attached few photos of the Taiwanese "Lancer"...
