AFR Gauges and Sensors
Which AFR gauge do you guys use or which one do you like the best? I've been looking at AEM and Innovate's. I'm thinking about getting one and would like to learn how to tune by reading this forum. I'd like to hear input from you guys, since you guys actually tune (and aren't just a ricer).
really difficult to read a dash gauge while driving at wot.
what you want for logging is the wideband, the neat part is it's output is incorporated in evoscan, mitsulogger and logworks* - (when you use the innovate).
there are other popular widebands too.
so you can save your money on the gauge

I also really enjoy the Innovative LC-1. I use both Logworks and Evoscan. The part I really like about the Innovative is their Logworks software.
Being able to single cell tune is awesome for someone like me who is not a professional and wants to be very safe when doing it.

Same here! Love LC1 every since I bought it. It works charm with evoscan and logworks. Check out the other thread where you could use Apexi turbo timer to read your a/f using lc1 ground wire. Brilliant!
dont most tuners want you to have an AFR gauge within sight when trying new maps to make sure its a safe tune before damaging something?
Just curious because I'm looking to get a tune also and want to spend as little as possible on unnessisary hardware.

I use the LC-1 w/o a gauge as well. I really don't see the benefit of a bouncing light on the dash. It's not really usable unless you're on a dyno.
I would think a tuner would be logging many parameters while testing a new tune. If you have a WB installed, they can log AFR along with everything else. No need for the gauge. If they really NEED a gauge in sight, just make one in EvoScan.

I use the innovate LC-1 as well, and it's a killer set-up. Like you, I didn't want the bouncy gage in the car, but I still wanted to be able to monitor it from time to time, so I bought on eof the small square digital displays from Dynotune. I really like the set-up, and I have the thing "hidden" from outside plain site, but I can see it... I like it because it doesn't distract me from driving like my grandma. Haha!
I have an LM-1 and TWO Innovate XD-1 gauges. One is set to read AFR and the other reads boost. The boost one has been very helpful in keeping me out of boost during daily driving which saves gas. I have the LED lights set up to tell me exactly when I cross from vaccuum into boost.
I'm sure the Innovate is great, but I have the AEM. It comes with a gauge for the dash, but also has output for logging. You can make a connector for $3 for use with logging.
I suppose it's also about what you want. AEM and Innovate have a display gauge, but isn't the Zeitronix gauge coming out soon too?

Excellent information, I really appreciate it. I'll go with a sensor alone then. Where's a good price on just the sensor?
