I started at 20% and it was at wastegate pressure. He just tried a pull with no pressure to the WG and let off at 15 psi, so it's something in the boost control. We're trying to connect it based on Perrin's diagram for their 3-port.

I'm pretty sure he didn't.

Well, don't discount a bad solenoid. I have installed probably 30-40 or so of these things and about 3 of them where DOA out of the box.

Bad solenoid would be really crappy luck ... he's ordered a new one already I believe. The new routing seems to be working the same as before though. We'll probably leave it that way since it's recommended by Tial and Perrin.

Hey, I just finished setting my car up for ecu controlled boost with the perrin bcs. Ive been meaning to post this but wanted to get a picture to show. I had problems with my perrin initially too. The diagram they give is the correct way to set up the perrin(fast mode). The ports are MISLABELED on the perrin unit. this is by memory, the port on the side by itself is actually port1(labeled 2). This port is connected to the turbo outlet nipple. The wastegate is connected to the port across from port1 if looking at the perrin bcs its the first one(highest) on the other side with two. Then the lowest port is connected back into the intake tube for venting. Check the diagram and connect it as they show, not as the directions written(the ports are incorrectly labeled). Hope that helps, my car was overboosting 100% tho not underboosting as per your problem.

Finally got a pic of my bcs

It is not able to achieve boost psi higher than waste gate pressure, as in the GM BCS is not bleeding pressure off. We are going to try 2 or 3 small changes before replacing the solenoid (it is on order) to see if it helps

I use the Perrin and have it connected just as shown in the accompanying diagrams. It works flawlessly.

the car in question now has a GM solenoid and a Tial wastegate that has 2 ports ... I simply suggested using Perrin's external WG diagram as reference for the connections to the GM solenoid ...

Here is the routing we're currently using ...

That is incorrect with the GM.

Metal nipple to boost source (no T).

Nipple with filter vent or to induction tube.

Nipple without filter to side port on Tial.

as stated earlier by Touring bubble, that routing resulted in waste gate pressure, even with 75% WGDC. That is why we are questioning the routing and the BCS defectiveness.

That's right ... we first tried that setup. It's basically using the BCS like an MBC with the Tial. this setup is more like the bleed setup that the factory solenoid uses and seems to be the preferred method for EWGs. We're just testing ... I just hope it works.

and actually Will, we went to over 90% duty with correction and had no change in boost. I'm thinking that the solenoid is bad like Razor said. How long till the new one is in?

Well, I've used that routing on about 5 external setups with no issue.

If you are seeing more than wastegate when you pull the line then I would really lean towards something wrong with the solenoid since you have a already tried a couple different routing ways

that's what we're thinking. If he was local I'd put my Perrin on there to test ...

I'd actually like to see a cutaway of the Tial to figure out how the 2 pressure sources work together to control boost. that would help me decide which route would be best once the solenoid works ... does anyone have that or can you explain what the different ports on the Tial do?

EDIT :: Nevermind ... the exploded view on Tial's site helped me understand.
