I do not believe in 2 byte maf load calculations using any of the two dataloggers. Trust the timing number, not the fabricated 2byte load figure.
I don't understand this. Not trying to be difficult here, I just need some help. How do you find your load cell using the timing number? How is it more accurate than any kind of load calc method?

Do you just go to the RPM you are at in your log, then go accross your timing map until you are at the timing number in your log, then look at the load cell above? What if there are multiple timing cells with the same timing? which do you use? I'm confusing myself, now. It's probrably more simple than i let it be.

Thanks for any help you could give.

It doesn't work if you have multiple cells with the same timing at the same RPM. However, where the engine is knock limited most people find that they don't have multiple cells with the same timing at the same RPM. The only situation I've found this beneficial (ie to have anything near to block timing) is if you have lift off det which responds by flattening the timing in say the 120-220 range if you are running 240 or 260 load for example. However, even then only the odd cell is the same as its neighbour, there is still a gradient on it, just a shallower one.

Thanks. What exactly is a knock limited engine? is it when you tune to the max before it knocks?

So for example:

If I do a WOT log, and my load (mitsulogger) is 200 and RPM is 3500 and there is knock. I look up where those two intersect on my map in ECUflash and adjust that cell accordingly?

Just use the 2 byte load and make sure that you tune the two adjacent cells to the target cell just to be safe.

If you log timing advance that will help as well. If it is the first occurance where the knock occurs timing advance should be same as the cell where the knock is happening (or close because it can still interpolate). This trick may/may not work after the first occurance since depending on the knock count the ECU may start to pull timing.
