Dyno'd my first custom tune

Took a trip to DSG this morning to see how well my on-road tune performed.

This is 93 octane (I only fill up at Shell stations) with no additives, running 4deg at peak torque and 12 at redline. The AFR in this chart is about 0.5 leaner than my LC-1 reads. Mods:
Evolution IX
K&N Cone - Helix TBE - Hallman MBC - Walbro FP - Nisei LICP - AGP FMIC
296awhp - 320awtq - Dyno Dynamics - 24psi - Pump Gas Only
I'm pretty happy with the results, this being a Dyno Dynamics:

Dyno Dynamics reads lower than Dyno Jet. In my opinion, the Dyno Dynamics is more accurate... I fail to see how an AWD car can make 286hp at the crank, and 250whp (which is what a Dyno Jet would read a stock Evo IX)

My numbers, converted to Dyno Jet, would be about 345awhp. Obviously, because that's a higher number, that's what people choose to advertise.

Yep...all dynos are not created equal. The numbers for your mods actually compare quite favourably with our local Dyno Dynamics here.

So you gained about 95 whp from better filter/intake, TBE, ducting/cooling, boost control, and tuning? Sounds like a good, clean trade-off to me, but there are much cheaper ways to make power if your willing to take on the headaches and time.

My future holds injectors (I'm at 98% IDC at 7200RPM), FP Green, Cosworth Cams, Exedy Stg 2, and water injection. I will eventually be retiring the car to track only, at which point I will run C16. As for now, it's a daily driver

After reviewing most of his tuning threads and reviewing the issue with the a/f ratio, I still think his has quite a bit of power left to be made from tuning. (safely)
I dont recall ever seeing an a/f ratio as jagged as his on DSG's dyno before. His hp and tq seems as though it wants to jump but is help back in certain spots. A little more refining, and I think he would be looking at a solid and smooth 15 more whp. His tq seems pretty high and thats as high as its probably going to spike on 24psi but the curve further up can be smoothed and will probably taper less. Regardless, he layed down 265 whp before on that dyno with a custom tune and now has put down 295 with his own tune, a tune that can still be refined a bit at that. Sounds like the man is doing something right.

Those cheaper methods you speak of to make power require that the tuner endure severe headaches and will consume a lot of time. The end result will probably be worth it but who knows.

I could not view the Dyno chart, must be the settings on this computer so I can't view the AFR.

Even though AFR's are quite inconsistant and touchy with our cars due to smallest of changes in boost, humidity, barometer, temp, fuel and so forth, you are correct in saying there is more tune to find on a jagged fuel burn graph

Nice power. Would you happen to have an EvoScan log in 3rd or 4th gear on flat ground that corresponds to this tune? Would be interesting to compare the DD chart to one of the HP/TQ calculators.

Do you have a log? What's your 2byte load at peak tq/,max load, I am running five degrees at pq tq just as ref and around 250 ld, 2byte, at around 3450-3500 rpm, at 20.5 psi. Thats on 90 octane Nm gas, but on my 91 octane tune.
