As far as I can tell aircon should be disabled after about 80% throttle.. this is on 88580014 but should be relevant to other IX's and 8's as well...

The new M3 turns off the alternator temp. when going WOT. makes power and saves gas.

Zeitronix makes a little box that turns your A/c off when going WOT. here...

Anyone have any more info on this? I know its cool now, but just something to think about for the future....

MOTEC even disables the alternator (battery charging) during wot - this is definitelly not in the stock ECU (but would be a nice feature as well)

I wouldn't want to disable the alternator as this would affect the voltage going to the injectors. Could make it more tricky to effectively tune the car.

I do not have the exact figures but the gain was interesting - in a N group rally car with a restrictot you really need every single hp that you can get.
