lol I tried it on the way home tonight and its quite strange flat shifting... I think I need to change the RPM drop as well - 1500 is just too much... maybe 600.. but as Eric said the revdown takes a while to complete so it probably doesn't matter too much.
But yes you need to be very decisive - the top clutch switch is VERY sensative, so no doodeling about - straight on the clutch and straight off it otherwise you get a bit of a jerk... I might build in a delay for when you first hit the clutch and then another delay for when you let the clutch out (using the bottom clutch switch)

As you mentioned, you just need to get used shifting with your right foot planted. I was already used to it from DSMLink and my DSM a few years back. It definitely isn't natural and you may be hesitant the first few times trying it.
As far as what RPM drop, that all matters on the gearing of your transmission and what RPM you are shifting at. Whatever the next gear will come in at is the drop you should have. But, I think the shift will be a tad bit quicker than the drop anyway, so it may not matter too much. I think the 1500 RPM drop is good, too.
There is a thread on EVOM with a nice excel graph of the gear ratios for all of the trannies. I'll see if I can find it.

Here is what I was talking about(I'm pretty sure the below graph is for a stock 5-speed and stock 6-speed):
So, if you were shifting at 7500 RPM on all gears on a stock 5 speed, the next gear would come in at:
2nd: 4995 (2505 RPM drop)
3rd: 5412 (2088 RPM drop)
4th: 5496 (2004 RPM drop)
5th: 5238 (2262 RPM drop)
Here is a spreadsheet that I downloaded from one of the threads here, with the data for all of our transmissions.

i dont know about thos being accurate. My 03 VIII 5 spd shifted at 7500 RPM only drops to 5960 rpm or more in each gear according to evoscan which would make the 1500rpm drop perfect.

I believe the one he has just made is for the Evo IX version 15.
Also Tephra - I would also suggest not to build in any delay. If you shift really fast you won't need it. It probably just felt weird since it is not normal to flat foot shift. But try it as fast as you can and it actually feels really good, lol

So you don't actually need to be flat foot the whole time. Thats interesting although I don't really see why its needed. I'm not being rude but how is the configurable TPS helpful?
Also just want to check that this does not affect our normal 2-step in any way right?

Also, on the converse of that, you don't want the NLTS rev limiter kicking in when you are driving around town normally. So, you would set a high enough throttle percentage so that you wouldn't normally hit it.
You have to remember that the NLTS is triggered off of the top clutch switch, which triggers the instant you even touch the clutch pedal. So, if it engaged when you didn't want it to during normal shifting, you would get a big jerk, like you hit fuel cut, since that what NLTS basically is.

If this works for Evo VIII, tephra, will you be able to help me?
I'm looking for someone to rebuild my definition file because the guy who did this for me originally did not set up my launch control correctly, and if you can tune me for anti-lag to work with the NLTS, I would be happy to pay a fair sum for the work
