The MUT, unless they're talkin about sumthin else, is the tool Mitsubishi uses to plug into the ECU and service the car. They can run diagnostics and do things like bleed the ACD for 05+ cars.

the 2 byte load modification is the most accurate way of determining which load column you are on in evoscan.

MUT is a Mitsubishi specific diagnostic protocol. EvoScan and other loggers understand this protocol and use it to retrieve data from the ECU.

Read the posts on 2 byte load carefully and it explains what you need to do, but yeah basically you need to make some changes to ECUFlash can see the necessary tables. Then you change the tables to be what we want so we can log 2 byte load.

I think your confusing things. 2 byte load and 2 byte rpm dont have anything to do with each other. There is 2 byte load. Which is (stated above) an accurate load reading. Then there is 2 byte rpm. Which is real rpm opposed to ~32 rpm interval. I havent used the 2 byte rpm. I am not 100% but to my understanding its only useful in calculations stuff

^^ 2 byte rpm is useful for manual map tracing since its should be more accurate than regular rpm and makes it easier to verify which cell in the map you are in.

To the OP, to make the mods you change the xml associated with your rom to show the MUT tables. Then you make an actual change to the ROM so that it now will send 2byte load/rpm when requested.

The last step is then to use your logger to request the 2 byte load/rpm does that make a little more sense?

The MUT table is used to define the memory address for for each MUT request. If you send a MUT request of 00, then the ECU looks up the memory address as defined in the MUT table and sends back the data that is stored there. You can completely remap your MUT table to log pretty much anything you want.

Ok yes I was confused, 2 byte load shows load in a differtn format and same with 2 byte anythjing, it just changes the way it is displayed right? The only thing I don't get is how to change itm I really just want to log my car not really tune it all, just change launch control and small stuff like that, is it even needed to change anything to 2 byte?

If you just want to log then you should still do the steps needed to log 2-byte load because it will allow you to have more accurate logs.

But then again you don't really need load to be accurate if you just want to log to see if your car is running poorly.
