Yeah, I have to drop mine lower for the track. I was at 1250 but it turned out to be slower. It's good for the street though.

i tested 94170015 the other night everything work great but the NLTS when getting on and not using NTLS (just regular speed shifting) it hits a wall when pressing the gas in the next gear. I lowered the rpm drop even all the way to 500 (which is too low) still the same thing. I will try it on another car with the same rom ID, not all cars r the same. learned that a while ago tuning the same car with the same mods LOL. tephra is my hero

edit** the NTLS for rom 94170015 work when engaging it by the way, i just had a problem with regular speed shifting (not NTLSing)

for the six speed 900rpm drop is a good sweet spot

What do you mean 500 was to high then you raised to 900? I had the same problem (hitting a brick wall)... I shift fast as is so 500 works well on the street... I'll probably lower that a few hundred for track (ninja shifts).

sorry I meant too low of a drop

rom 94170015 is a 5 speed, the lowest I have gone with them is 1250. that night I got it to 500 and it still did it. I will try it again though.

i was saying that 900 is a good drop for the six speed because I tuned another 6 speed the other night sorry for the confusion bud

-justchil what is your speed 5 or 6
-also what are your settings for NTLS

maybe I can help

I've got an off-the-wall question. Do these roms come w/ lean spool disabled? If not, is it still the same method as in the "...for dummies" thread since the ROM has been changed?

No lean Spool Disable, but it should be the same as the "for dummies thread". Its slightly different for VIII's and IX's but it explains that in the threads.

I'm not sure why people are afraid of setting the NLTS drop to too large of a number? I have set mine to 2500rpm and I shift it before it hits the 700rpm range. I normally have it set at 1500 and it doesn't matter since I shift way before than threshold anyways. My logs for the 2500rpm setting and 1500rpm setting were identical. I'd be more worried about inconsistent results from run to run if I had it set to only 500rpm and was bouncing off the limiter when I needed to shift.

again every car is different, or course if your NLTS its not going to really affect with that difference (2500 or 1500). We are talking about regular speed shifting with NTLS enable

too much of drop when speed shifting (not NTLS) will hurt if you know what i mean. some people like be able to NTLS or speed shift with it enable, kind of the best of both worlds.

on a 6 speed more than 1k will be to much of a drop

Actually I think I'm at 700 not 500. I know I can go with little less if needed. Here is a boost log... if I'm just wasting space with this let me know and I'll remove it!

Now my real question... who has launched using 2step then NTLS for the 1-2 shift? How hard is it? I've done a 1st gear punch from 3000 and had no problems hitting second.

Its not "hard" compared to normal shifting but it just takes time to retrain yourself to NOT LIFT. I have been racing for a long time but this is the first time I have really ever messed around with NLTS and it definitely takes some getting used to. Even on the street without timing lights you can feel the car is faster. I have the drop set to 100rpm and there is almost no boost drop as long as I ninja shift. The most I have recorded currently was 6psi but that was taking my time shifting.

Put it this way, when you launch hard and shift 1-2 the feeling of your vision being blurred doesnt let up, you still feel like you cant focus. When the G's edge off a little it comes right back near the top of 2nd (for me anyway). I wish we had an open, dry track so I could go see what has happened to my 60's.
