They had 2 maps posted there by the same user. I looked at one real quick, the fueling tables are leaned out a little bit, but the timing tables are what worried me the most...there's alot of advance in them, much more than a stock table. They say they were tuned for the specific car on 91 octane, but I honestly would rethink even bothering to use them. Add cams into the mix and it sounds like a recipe for disaster, better off going with someone who's well known and pay the very little money in comparison to what a new motor would cost.

Learn how to do it yourself. You'll get alot more help when you don't ask for handouts, and you ask for advice.

People are very supportive in the ecuflash forums. Those waiting to be spoon fed tho, is more inline with paying for a tune.

I have ben learning how to do it myself but I cant quite get it dialed in exact. Trust me I dont mind paying the $150, I have a lot of money! I tried Jster but no response to e-mails, dont need that in my life. I will try CBRD next.

why not just get a wide-band and use Jestr, CBRD, Mellon, or TTP. it makes no difference if your across the state or across the Atlantic.

I dont mind using these services but they dont respond very fast. Makes you wonder how long a 2nd or 3rd flash would take to get after they get your money!

I disagree. Mellon and 4 wheel slide got back to me very quick. And Mellon also offers to stay with you until your satisfied with the tune. Whether its done right the first time or if you gotta go back and forth 10 times. 4 wheel slide is also around he will get back to you very fast.

I agree 100% !

Sometimes I feel stupid as hell for asking questions, esp when I know I've seen the answer somewhere before, but like they say, no such thing as a stupid question. One day, down the road I'll be able to repay the community by answering questions for somebody else that's learning.

Chris and Brad over at Mellon have been great for my friends that have used them.

And there is always also mievo.net - there are a few of us that tune ourselves.

x2 or @ least find someone local that can show you the ropes. ecuflash isnt that hard to learn. there is PLENTY of info on this site alone to help you out. Look @ is this way you can look back and say "i tuned it". Hell when I tuned other cars, I try to educate them so they know whats going on rather than collecting funds.

thanks for the votes of confidence in Mellon Tuning... we aren't like the others, we're fast and we stay with it until the tune is perfected. These aren't your typical el cheapo quick and dirty tunes, these are fully customized to get every last hp out of the car and at the same time keep it safe.

p.s. just my thinking here but it never ceases to amaze me that people will pay 500-800 bucks for a 3" piece of exhaust pipe but have a problem spending 150.00 to make their car haul *** like it should.

I'm working on a race gas tune that was one of those canned deals from a vendor on here...the car made 350awhp on a stock 9 @ 30psi when it came to me. Only changing the tune, we're right at 400awhp and not done yet.

most people pick up 30-50awhp and often that's after being "tooned" by someone else

maybe this will help...here are some of my recent before and after tunes:

most of the time, I'm waiting a week or two to get a log back from the customers, it's rare that they have to wait more than a day or two for a revised ROM and that usually is due to a holiday or a weekend.

yep, I can't count how many cars that have come to me from elsewhere with the wrong injector scale, bad fuel/timing maps or a tune that's so conservative that it slower than stock.

There's truly some scary stuff out there, much of the problem is with shops that don't tune these cars daily. They only know enough to be dangerous and some clearly haven't done their homework whatsoever before attempting to tune an EVO.
