Can i tune an Evo6 with Ecuflash?

Is there a definition file available for it?

Looking at this ECUflash tutorial there seems to be a definition file for Evo 5/6 listed?

I've never personally tuned a V or VI with ECUFlash. But, if you can pull the ROM I'm sure that someone here or on OpenECU could help you out with a definition. You can probably find someone in your area with a cable ... England isn't THAT big ... =)

 

here is my evo 5 rom,
not much use without a definition file,
and Ecuflash cannot write to the H8 processor yet it can only read from it,

 

England might not be big, but the traffics terrible!

A certain BarryC in this thread has a write up on how to put an Evo 7 ECU into an earlier Evo.

As above, just fit an evo 7 ecu (or evo 8 and flash it with an evo7 rom), thats what I did with my Evo6 and it works just fine

 

Remember the JDM Evo 8 uses a 3 plug configuration, the EDM 260, USDM 8 and JDM 7 have the correct 4 plug setup that would fit the 6.

The EVO7 ECU works fine in my EVO6 TME. Also minimal wiring mods.

Hello BarryC, I have a JDM EVO 6 GSR and I can read the ecu in EcuFlash, but when I try to open it says "Unknown ROM Image". Can you please provide me a solution for this? I'm very lost...

Sorry for bringing this old thread back from the dead...
I have a road racing Evo6 RS that we are building a motor for and I would like to reflash with ecuflash. I have a ralliart ecu, a group-n ecu and the stock one. Is there any option to reflash one of these or do I need to install an evo8 ecu?

You can remap the standard E6 ecu. I am not sure if the Ralliart or GroupN ones are locked.

If you do not have a local tuner you trust, I suggest remote tuning through tscomp, he has experience with Evo 6. http://www.tscomptuned.net/tuning.html
