Tephra

Can you explain what the alternate map load threshold does?

you can't switch maps when the ECU see's load above this number.

Just a failsafe to ensure you don't switch maps when the engine is loaded... just incase something goes wrong :P

If I used as a failsafe setup, I'd WANT it to switch to a safer map under severe loads, to PREVENT damage

Yes quite - which is why when ADC0F is the map switching mechanism it is an instant - no check application...

So load threshold only comes into it when using the ICS-auto switch.

I will endevour to rename the fields to help ppl understand what they do.

Cheers
D.

Thanks.

For my purposes I will use the alternate map optimized to live in the 1st and 2nd gear worlds of autocross vs. a failsafe for those who spray in your next set of mods. Also I want to reduce timing in the cells that are active for launch control. Booyah.

Hey Tephra,
Any luck with figuring out whats going on with the offset knock sensor filters in the 4.2 94170008 rom???

One of the supposedly stock roms I pulled from active matrix has the same issue with both 1.29 and 1.34. Malibu Jacks rom matches my stock rom and they both look correct.

I'm thinking that it may have been an early p0300 fix from mitsu that hosed up the filter tables but I cannot confirm. Neither Jack nor myself ever had the p0300 fix. I eventually went got it last year sometime so it would have been the last revision on the p0300 on the "virgin" rom I emailed you.

I have a bunch of roms that I have pulled off cars I've tuned, but I left my laptop power supply at the shop this weekend so my laptop is pooped out at the moment so I cannot compair all the 94170008's that I have till this weekend.

Oh boy...Should we not be running the 4.2 94170008 rom?

I don't want to comment until Tephra has a chance to look things over. I noticed that many of the 94170008 roms match the one he used to create the patch, however mine does not. Several look to be horked up a little.

I noticed it on the knock sensor filter map 1. My stock rom, Malibu Jack's stock rom, my dealer supplied (last year) p0300 patched rom all look fine, but many of the 94170008 roms floating around do not look correct.

In short, I'm sure this is not an issue with Tephra's patch, but the roms themselves.

FWIW Here is my Knock Sensor Filter Map 1. The one on top was only modified by the Big A (the bro). I am pretty sure that he did not touch the knock sensor maps.

From what I remember, he was using TechTom and modifying from there. Although I did have a "basic flash" after having a "custom tune". From there he did a "custom tune" probably modifying the rom that he he used for the "basic flash". There may have been a P300 fix in the basic rom. I am not sure.

The one below is the v4.2 rom.

Both are 94170008 roms.

I doubt that there are any intentional changes done, but if so, that they have actually changed anything.

Take a look at this screen shot, as you can see the filters in 4.2 rom are shifted one column to the right compaired with my 94170008 rom. Top is mine, bottom is the 4.2 and matches several 94170008 roms I have seen.

I always copy every table from my rom to one of his new patched roms. It takes a lot longer and is tedious but I never wanted something like this to possibly cause issues.

mad_VIII - It almost looks like the definition is one value off for the table in your ROM.

Which has happened before, especially with the comfuscation that certain tuners do to the ECU's.
